How is Jojoba Oil Made?
To make Jojoba oil, the bush must first be found. Jojoba oil is made from the seeds of the Jojoba bush. These seeds can be used when they are ripe. The best time to collect the seeds is around the summer period. To know if the seeds are good to use, they must have a light brown color and be hard. There is also a large amount of wax in the seeds.
Based on a rough calculation, there is about 54% wax in it, because there is so much wax in it, the seeds must first be dried well before use. This is done about one week before making the oil. When there is still about 10% wax in the seeds, it is good to use for making oil.
After the seeds are ready for making the oil, the seeds are placed on a seed press and pressed flat. The wax that comes out of the seeds by pressing is removed. What remains after pressing is what we make the Jojoba oil from. After this, it is ensured that all skins and other things that do not belong in the oil are removed for a neat, clean oil. When everything is purified, it is stored in an oil container and kept refrigerated.
