Why is my shea butter grainy?

{"type":"root","children":[{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"Those are crystals that form when the butter cools too slowly or has been melted and solidified a few times. Melt the butter completely, then cool it quickly, for example in a cold water bath."}]},{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"It says nothing about the quality; the butter is still perfectly good."}]}]}

Does refined shea butter also smell like nuts?

{"type":"root","children":[{"type":"paragraph","children":[{"type":"text","value":"No, it is virtually odorless. If you do want the natural scent, choose the cold-pressed form."}]}]}

Shea butter

2 Products

Shea butter as a raw material for soap makers, balm producers, and cosmetic brands. Here you will find both forms we supply, from small to bulk packaging.

Which shea is right for you?

Cold-pressed, organic: ivory to beige, with shea's characteristic nutty scent. For products that list shea as an ingredient.
Refined, organic: white and virtually odorless. The logical choice as soon as your formulation includes fragrance.

Shea butter melts around body temperature and adds body to balms, creams, and soap. For both forms, you will find the product specification, safety data sheet (SDS), and certificate of analysis for the supplied batch on the product page. Larger volumes or regular orders? Request a quote.
